Excellence and superiority in education, training, research and community service in the field of maternal and newborn health nursing locally and globally.

Mission

Department of Maternal and Newborn Health Nursing- Faculty of Nursing, Cairo University is committed to prepare students who are able to provide competitive nursing care that meets the needs of women during the different stages of life, fetus and newborn, enhancing their research skills and participating in community service and environmental development.

System Governing Values Adopted by the Department

Department of Maternal and Newborn Health Nursing adopt the following governing values:

                                             General objectives

1- Creating an educational climate to provide learners with the knowledge, skills, and behaviors that qualify them to provide distinguished nursing care.

2- Developing research and behavioral cognitive skills among faculty members and the supporting staff.

3- Develop students’ creative and innovative skills and scientific thinking.

4- Maximizing the role of the scientific department in serving the community and developing the environment.

5- Applying modern concepts and methods in teaching, clinical training and assessment for students.

6- Design department’s research plan congruent with the faculty’s research plan and the needs of the work market.

7- Conducting researches on women’s health problems in different stages of development.

8- Extracting protocols based on research results and using them in health care.
